Peer Review Process

(1) Papers submitted to Acta Metallurgica Slovaca have to be based on original theoretical or experimental investigations.

(2) The Publisher takes no responsibility for injury and/or damage to persons or property resulting from a matter of product liability, negligence or otherwise, or from any use or operation according to any methods, products, instructions or ideas contained in the material published herein.

(3) Although all advertising material is expected to conform to the ethical standards; its encompassment in this publication does not guarantee or endorse the value of such products or of the claims made by its manufacturer.

(4) Authors who plagiarize significant portions of their manuscript even from their own work published previously will be placed on a database which will be shared with all publishers and will be banned from publishing for a period of three years.

(5) If English in the manuscript is difficult to understand, the editor will reject the paper without technical review until it is readable by the reviewer.

Type of contributions

(1) Research papers: reporting experimental or theoretical research within the scope of our journal.

(2) Review papers: examining the position in a topic of current interest.

(3) Technical notes: providing a quick publication route for preliminary announcements of the results of current work, or short accounts of new techniques; typically 1000 words in length.

(4) Communications: conference reports, news from research institutes, commentaries etc.

(5) Technical papers: providing a publication route for preliminary announcements of the results of current work, or new techniques within the scope of our journal.

Papers of type (1) and (2) are reviewed by one member of the Editorial Board and the other Reviewer will be selected from the list of potential Reviewers suggested the by corresponding author. The corresponding author will suggest the names, addresses, and email addresses of 3 experts (as a minimum) in the subject of the paper, who are not the members of the Editorial Board of the journal are not from the author’s institution, and at least two of them must be from a different country that the author. Note that the editor retains the sole right to decide whether or not the suggested reviewers will be used.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

History

The first world congress of specialists in mining and metallurgy was held in the town Sklené Teplice in Slovakia as early as in 1786. On this occasion the first science society in the world was founded. These roots are belonging to the Acta Metall. Slovaca (founded in 1995). The subject category of the journal is Metallurgy & Metallurgical Engineering, as well as Metals and Alloys. The main distinguishing feature from other journals in the field is the resumption in traditional metallurgy science with respect of a new progressive processes and methods.
